With the upgrade to Version 2.0 of the XStandard WYSIWYG web editor, one of the commands used in the expand/collapse instructions was discontinued. Therefore, Kiril had to change the instructions to reflect the new method of getting the job done. Here they are:
1. 1. Highlight the title of the content that you would like to have to be expandable/collapsible.
2. Click on the hyperlink button and put in the # sign in the URL text box.
3. Click on the Advanced tab and put in showhide(‘contentid’);return false in the onclick text box. Click OK.
4. Highlight the content to be made expandable/collapsible.
5. Assign the Division style to the highlighted content from the Styles dropdown located at the top left corner of the editor.
6. Right-click on the content and click on Tag List>div>Edit. Type contentid(or whatever you name the content; it needs to match the value in the showhide function in Step 3) in the ID textbox.
7. While still in the same dialog box as Step 6, select hideforscreen in the Class dropdown and click OK.
8. Repeat Step 1 through Step 7 for all content items that you would like to have expand and collapse. (Useful Tip: Make sure that you name each new content ID differently during each new iteration of the instructions if you are working on the same page.)

Proposed Changes to Distance Learning Pages
Home Page of Distance Learning
On the home page of Distance Learning there is too much content to fit on the page without scrolling.
Blackboard Log in instructions. We could combine the TCC Blackboard log in with the WAOL Blackboard log in and make that one link. Also the TCC Blackboard log in and WAOL log in is also located on the Distance Learning home page.
Contact Information. The contact information given is for 24/7 Technical Support for Blackboard. Then as the page is scrolled down, there is a link to the Distance Learning Information for Faculty and the information is duplicated by Faculty and Staff Resources link on the left.
Distance Learning Podcast information could be a link located on the left with other links or it could have a more prominent heading if left on the home page with Bold heading.
Paragraphs describing Distance Learning could be the intro to our Distance Learning page. It is an advertisement and it would be appropriate with a Title such as "Is Distance Learning right for you?"
Suggested Pages for Students information could be a link located on the left as well as the Distance Learning Podcast information. This is taking up a lot of space and requires the student to scroll.

TCC Blackboard Login and WAOL Blackboard Login could be combined into one link and named "Blackboard Log in".
Overview of Distance Learning has a lot of text to read right off the bat. There are links that direct the student to specific information but the information is duplicated on the same page. There is a link at the top named "What is Distance Learning", "Distance Learning Right for Me?", "What Does TCC Offer", and "How Do I Get Started?" all these links offer the same information as the text on the page. I propose keeping the links and eliminating the text. I think keeping the "For More Information, visit our FAQ page" a useful reference to the student.
What is Distance Learning? The third paragraph beginning with could be removed. "An online learning environment is not typically based on lectures, memorization, and tests,"
Is Distance Learning Right for Me? Offers the student a self-assessment and informs the student they must have a certain level of computer skills. We could list some pre-requisites here or computer knowledge equivalent of the courses listed.
What Does TCC Offer? The third paragraph down the last sentence after the comma should be removed "and Textbook Publisher hosted courses." and in this same paragraph we could have the opportunity to explain the difference between TCC and WAOL Blackboard. I am not sure what
Self-Paced CD-ROM based instruction is. Are these the classes offered in the Self paced lab in Bldg. 28? Should the last sentence here, "The courses are not the only thing offered online, students also can access college services online." be removed? Does this pertain to Distance Learning?
How Do I Get Started? There are several links listed here and they are helpful but they do not take the student directly back to the Distance Learning area of the web site. The link to Login Instructions only lists WAOL Login instructions. This could be removed since Login instructions are give in the first link.

The tutorials are all the way at the bottom of the page. If I was inexperienced with computers or the internet and needed to find the tutorial needed to help me, I might not be able to find it. I think that it should either be relocated to a higher position on the page or maybe have its own page.
